About Mystic Isle Ridgebacks
Mystic Isle was founded in June 1993. Previously, in 1987 I co-founded County Line Ridgebacks. I’ve bred occasionally since then, breeding a litter in each of the following years: 1993, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2001, and most recently in 2006 and 2008.
My goals have always been to breed sound and healthy Ridgebacks with stable temperaments in accordance with the approved AKC Breed Standard for Rhodesians. My primary emphasis has always been great homes first, show homes if I can get them.
About Me
I’m not one to push people into exhibiting dogs so I don’t have as many Champions as some who are more into the glory of showing dogs. I breed to maintain the ability of these dogs to track and bay large game, guard the home and be excellent companions to the family—exactly what these dogs were originally bred to accomplish!
